International Day of Peace

It is DSM's tradition each year to celebrate Peace Day instead of Halloween. The children all dress up in costumes representing children from around the world. We hold a peace march to parade in our costumes, read peaceful books, listen to cultural music, create artworks representing different countries, and hold a multicultural potluck lunch.

  1. How do you engage your littlest ones in art? My son is currently 8 months old and I've tried introducing finger painting several times, as he has no problem spreading his baby food around at meal-time, but when I set up an actually art activity he shows no interest or simply doesn't understand. I'm not sure if he is not quite ready yet, or just isn't interested.
