It is DSM's tradition each year to celebrate Peace Day instead of Halloween. The children all dress up in costumes representing children from around the world. We hold a peace march to parade in our costumes, read peaceful books, listen to cultural music, create artworks representing different countries, and hold a multicultural potluck lunch.
How do you engage your littlest ones in art? My son is currently 8 months old and I've tried introducing finger painting several times, as he has no problem spreading his baby food around at meal-time, but when I set up an actually art activity he shows no interest or simply doesn't understand. I'm not sure if he is not quite ready yet, or just isn't interested.
